AdegaMãe presents six new vintages to toast summer

25/07/2025Lisbon Region producer launches five whites and one red with the freshness and elegance that the season demands .

AdegaMãe celebrates the arrival of summer with the launch of six new vintages that reflect the best of the Lisbon Region’s Atlantic identity. From refreshing whites to light reds, the new wines are designed to accompany the hot days with freshness, elegance and versatility at the table.

The new references – AdegaMãe Vinhas Velhas, Parcela Amarela, Arinto, Viosinho, Dory Branco and AdegaMãe Castelão – are an expression of the Atlantic terroir that defines the house. ‘We try to ensure that each vintage expresses the unique character of the vineyard where it was born,’ says oenologist Diogo Lopes, who leads the technical project at the winery in Torres Vedras. ‘These are wines that reflect the diversity of Portuguese grape varieties and the freshness that the proximity to the sea and the limestone soils provide.’

The selection includes five white wines and one red, all adjusted to the spirit of the season, with distinct profiles and proposals ranging from the sophistication of limited editions to the relaxed character of more accessible wines. The highlight is Parcela Amarela 2020, the successor to the acclaimed 2019 vintage, vinified from the Viosinho grape variety on a plot of yellowish limestone soil, where 80 per cent of the wine fermented in cement eggs and the rest in French oak barrels. Vinhas Velhas 2022, made exclusively from the Vital grape variety from the Serra do Montejunto, fermented in egg cement, is a limited edition with great personality and depth, ideal for those looking for a white wine with a striking identity.

AdegaMãe Arinto 2020 is the house’s most Atlantic wine, with saline and iodised notes, lively acidity and an excellent ageing capacity, making it ideal to accompany seafood and dishes from the sea. Viosinho 2023, also fermented in stainless steel, expresses the grape variety’s balance with freshness, integrated fruit and a subtle unctuousness, proving perfect for light and vegetarian dishes. Dory Branco 2024, the most versatile in the range, with an annual production of over 100,000 bottles and a fresh, fruity and accessible profile, is the wine of choice to accompany relaxed summer days, adapting to almost anything from the Portuguese coast. The house red, AdegaMãe Castelão 2021, is a light and elegant red, with soft tannins and good acidity, which harmonises with grilled meats, Mediterranean dishes or even fatter fish such as grilled sardines.

With these launches, AdegaMãe is reaffirming its commitment to the freshness, elegance and authenticity of the wines produced in the Lisbon Region, offering a selection designed for all summer moments – from lunches by the sea to sunset dinners and picnics with friends.
