Amorim Luxury group restaurants distinguished
15/08/2025JNcQUOI Avenida and JNcQUOI Asia distinguished with Wine Spectator's prestigious “Best of Award of Excellence 2025".The restaurants JNcQUOI Avenida and JNcQUOI Asia, both in Lisbon and belonging to the Amorim Luxury group, have just been awarded the prestigious Best of Award of Excellence 2025 by the influential US magazine Wine Spectator. This distinction places the two venues among a select elite of only six Portuguese restaurants recognized with this award, which celebrates the excellence of wine lists at an international level.
With more than 400 references of national and international wines in each of the venues, the wine lists at JNcQUOI Avenida and JNcQUOI Asia are the result of careful curation led by a team of specialized sommeliers, providing unique experiences and highly personalized service.
“Receiving this award is a huge honor and recognition of the continuous work of our team, who dedicate themselves every day to creating an unforgettable gastronomic and wine experience for our customers,” says Ivo Peralta, Head Sommelier at JNcQUOI.
Among the initiatives that have contributed to this distinction is the innovative “It’s Friday! It’s Big Bottle Day”, launched in 2019 at JNcQUOI Avenida. Every Friday, rare, large-format bottles are opened and served by the glass, inviting you to discover unique wines off the beaten track.
The Best of Award of Excellence is awarded annually by Wine Spectator to restaurants that demonstrate a wine list that is not only extensive (with more than 350 references) but also deep, diverse and well harmonized with the cuisine of the house. It is one of the highest international accolades in the world of food and wine.
The kitchen at both venues is under the direction of renowned chef António Bóia, a leading figure in Portuguese gastronomy. Born in Bragança, António Bóia graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu school in Paris and has had a solid career in some of the most prestigious hotel and gastronomic projects in Portugal. Since 2016, he has been the Executive Chef of the JNcQUOI universe, where he combines technique, creativity and sophistication with Portuguese and international cuisine.
With this recognition from Wine Spectator, JNcQUOI has established itself as a must-visit destination for lovers of haute cuisine and great wines, raising the bar even higher for luxury restaurants in Portugal.
