Casa Relvas is distinguished as Farmer of the Year at the 3rd edition of the Agricultura Innovation Award
27/12/2025Casa Relvas has received the title of Farmer of the Year at the third edition of the Agricultura Innovation Award, promoted by Timac Agro in partnership with the newspaper Expresso.The award recognizes the company’s consistent work in environmental, social, and economic sustainability, as well as in the responsible management of resources and the implementation of innovative technological solutions in agricultural production.
António Relvas, co-CEO of Casa Relvas, received the award on behalf of the company, stating: “This award signifies the recognition of the work of the 150 people who daily make Casa Relvas more efficient, sustainable, and prepared for the future. It reinforces our commitment to responsible agriculture, based on rigor, knowledge, and innovation.”
Casa Relvas stands out for managing 2,685 hectares of cultivation, including almond orchards, vineyards, olive groves, forest, and cork oak forests, employing 150 people, and allocating 10% of its results to social initiatives. The focus on technological innovation and production efficiency has been a strategic pillar, enabling it to meet the global increase in food demand and sustainability requirements.
During the ceremony, the importance of technology in agriculture was emphasized, with digital and artificial intelligence tools allowing for the anticipation of climate events, detection of crop problems, and precise management of resources such as water and nutrients. This focus on innovative and responsible solutions was decisive in awarding the prize to Casa Relvas, reinforcing its role as an example of modern and sustainable agriculture in the Alentejo.
