Casas d’Elvas Historic Hotel officially opens to the public

01/09/2025The Vila Galé Group has officially opened the Casas d'Elvas Historic Hotel, a new heritage rehabilitation project located in the heart of the historic centre of Elvas. With 44 themed rooms, a panoramic swimming pool and an Italian restaurant, the hotel combines history with modern comfort, reinforcing the tourist offer in a city recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Vila Galé Group has announced the official opening of the Casas d’Elvas Historic Hotel, located in the historic centre of Elvas, ready to welcome its first guests after its official presentation in February 2025. This new hotel is the result of the refurbishment of historic buildings, integrating heritage and modernity in a unique space.
Located in a group of old houses that belonged to a plum factory, the former ecclesiastical aljube and the 17th century War Council, the Casas d’Elvas Historic Hotel emphasises the history of the city classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Original decorative elements, such as antique lamps, a telephone box and a post office marker, enrich the experience for visitors, who also find the hotel’s central theme in painting. Each of the 44 rooms, of different types, is named after a painter and displays an illustrative panel in his honour.

The hotel also has a panoramic swimming pool, a meeting room and the Massa Fina restaurant, which offers a menu inspired by Italian cuisine. In addition, guests can enjoy the facilities of the Vila Galé Collection Elvas, located just a few metres away, which includes two restaurants, a bar, swimming pool and spa.
This opening is part of the Vila Galé Group’s strategy of valorising its historical heritage, reinforcing its presence in the city of Elvas and contributing to the development of cultural tourism in the region.
