Corticeira Amorim receives two international awards for leadership in sustainability
08/08/2025The company was honoured twice by World Finance magazine, reaffirming its position as a world reference in sustainability in the wine products industry.The Portuguese company was voted “Best Company in Carbon Reduction” and “Most Sustainable Company in the Wine Products Industry”, recognitions that highlight its environmental, social and economic commitment.
In the World Finance Carbon Awards 2024, Corticeira Amorim stood out for implementing innovative technologies that significantly reduce CO₂ emissions, achieving a reduction of 8.8 per cent in 2024. At the World Finance Sustainability Awards 2025, the company was recognised for its positive impact beyond regulatory requirements, promoting circular economy practices, the use of renewable energy – which already accounts for 68.3% of consumption – and the sustainable development of the assemblies.
Chairman António Rios de Amorim emphasises that these distinctions reflect continuous and strategic work, which includes the adoption of CSRD and ESRS standards to guarantee transparency and responsibility. Studies certified by APCER also confirm the negative carbon footprint of Corticeira Amorim’s cork stoppers, reinforcing the role of cork as a sustainable solution for the wine sector.
