Pipadouro launches “Exclusive Nights” with live music and wine to liven up Douro evenings

Pipadouro, internationally recognised for its innovation in wine tourism, is preparing to breathe new life into Douro evenings with the launch of “Exclusive Nights” – intimate wine events that combine music, creativity and sophistication on board the iconic Friendship I, a 1957 superyacht that belonged to the British Navy.
Scheduled to start on 16 May, these evenings will take place on Pipadouro’s private quay in Pinhão and will inaugurate a series of six exclusive events to be held between May and October. The first edition will feature a live performance by the Caju duo, made up of Ricardo de Barros and Yvette Soares, in a cosy atmosphere designed for a very limited number of guests.
Each night will have a different musical identity – from jazz to fado, DJ sets, academic tuna, live violin and cover bands. Wine, as the protagonist, will be presented in a creative way through Port wine cocktails, still white and red wines, accompanied by carefully selected locally inspired snacks.

At a time when wine consumption is facing global challenges – according to the OIV, 2024 recorded the lowest figure in the last six decades – Pipadouro is proposing new ways to experience and enjoy wine, responding to changes in lifestyles and the preferences of an increasingly curious and diverse public. ‘More than just an ingredient in the experience, wine will be the absolute star of these evenings,’ explains Ana Clara Silva, Pipadouro’s Operations Director. ‘We want to break the rigidity of classic wine tourism and offer surprising moments that will delight young people from generation Z to the most demanding oenophiles.’
The “Exclusive Nights” are now part of Pipadouro Excellence, the Douro operator’s portfolio of premium services dedicated to luxury and ultra-luxury wine tourism.
