Quetzal Releases Colheita Branco 2025 and Reinforces the Identity of Vidigueira

15/06/2026Quinta do Quetzal has unveiled Quetzal Colheita Branco 2025, the latest edition of a wine that aims to highlight the identity of the Vidigueira sub-region in white wine production.

Produced from a blend of Antão Vaz and Arinto, the wine follows an approach focused on freshness, balance and varietal expression, reflecting a contemporary interpretation of the Alentejo.

The grapes, sourced from schist soils under a Mediterranean climate, have resulted in a profile marked by aromatic precision and vibrant acidity. Vinification took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, with the aim of preserving the natural expression of the grape varieties.

According to José Portela, the project’s winemaker, “the choice of harvest timing and low-temperature vinification were key to ensuring the wine’s purity and tension.”

The 2025 vintage was characterised by a hot summer, requiring close monitoring of ripening, which had a direct impact on determining the optimal harvest moment and the wine’s final balance.

Classified as a Regional Alentejo Wine, Quetzal Colheita Branco 2025 presents itself as a gastronomic option, with a versatile profile suited to a variety of occasions.

Founded in 2003 by Cees de Bruin and Inge de Bruin, Quinta do Quetzal has established itself in the Alentejo through a model that combines wine production, contemporary art and gastronomy.

With this new vintage, the project further strengthens its positioning in the production of white wines in the region, contributing to the recognition of Vidigueira as one of the Alentejo’s key territories.
