Quinta da Aveleda launches Christmas programme with special menus and wine-pairing experiences

16/12/2025Quinta da Aveleda, in Penafiel, has unveiled its Christmas programme, which includes two exclusive wine-pairing dining proposals designed to celebrate the festive season around the estate's culinary traditions and wines, set against the backdrop of its historic gardens.

Guests can choose between two menus dedicated to the festive season. The Christmas Tradition Menu, accompanied by Aveleda wines, includes regional starters, pumpkin and basil soup, farrapo vinhateiro or estate duck rice, and classic desserts like rabanadas (Portuguese-style French toast).

The Christmas Essence Menu, paired with Vale D. Maria and Villa Alvor wines, offers a journey through Minho cuisine, featuring dishes such as bacalhau à lagareiro (oven-baked cod) and estate-style roast veal, alongside a dessert selection including Aveleda cheeses with quince jam and cinnamon-dusted aletria (vermicelli pudding).

Both experiences—available for lunch or dinner—last approximately two hours and can be complemented with a dessert buffet, which gathers traditional sweets such as bolo-rei (king cake).
