Quinta da Lagoalva anticipates the market and launches the first wines from the 2024 harvest
24/07/2025Quinta da Lagoalva is anticipating the market with the launch of the first wines from the 2024 vintage, emphasising freshness and lightness in an offer designed for relaxed consumption. The first wines from the 2024 harvest at Quinta da Lagoalva, in Alpiarça, one of the reference properties in the Tejo wine region, are now available. The launches include a blended white, a Sauvignon Blanc and a rosé, all produced without ageing in wood and with a profile orientated towards freshness, lightness and relaxed consumption.
The new harvest has more acidity and freshness than the previous year, reflecting a more balanced vegetative cycle with fewer thermal extremes. This evolution, according to the winemaking team led by Pedro Pinhão and Luís Paulino, ‘highlights the region’s potential to produce vibrant wines even in the context of climate change’.
Lagoalva Branco is the result of a blend dominated by the region’s traditional Fernão Pires grape variety, complemented by Arinto and Sauvignon Blanc. Lagoalva Sauvignon Blanc, vinified from grapes from plots planted in 2009, has the typical aromatic profile of the variety, with notes of vegetables and tropical fruit. Lagoalva Rosé combines Touriga Nacional and Syrah, the latter of which has a significant history on the estate, where it was introduced four decades ago.
With low alcohol levels and well-defined primary aromatic profiles, these wines were designed to respond to current consumer trends, favouring light and uncomplicated styles, adapted to moments of leisure and warmer weather.
Quinta da Lagoalva, owned by the Holstein Campilho family, is located on the south bank of the Tagus, about an hour from Lisbon. With an ancient agricultural history and a strong commitment to wine production and wine tourism, it is currently part of the Lagoalva Group and has 660 continuous hectares in one of the most dynamic territories in the Tejo region.
