Rodrigo Gomes, from RFM, to Host the 2026 National Wine Tourism Award

28/04/2026APENO has announced that Rodrigo Gomes will host the 2026 National Wine Tourism Award Gala, taking place on 29 May at Quinta Condes de Valadares.
A well-established figure in the national media landscape, Rodrigo Gomes began his career in 2005 at RFM, initially working as a producer before moving into presenting. Over the years he has become one of the most recognised voices in Portuguese radio, noted for his communication skills and close rapport with audiences.
His presenting credits include BFF, Wi-Fi, Café da Manhã, and, more recently, Num Mundo Ideal, maintaining a consistent presence across the radio landscape. His career has been defined by a direct style and sustained success across several high-audience formats.
Alongside his radio work, he has built a television career, contributing to RTP as a reporter on Faz Faísca and presenting formats including Jogo da Caixa. He currently hosts Cozinhas à Medida on the Casa e Cozinha channel.
Gomes also maintains an active digital presence, engaging regularly with audiences through social media and sharing content from his daily life, including his family.
“I am delighted to be part of an event dedicated to an increasingly important sector in Portugal. It will be a privilege to host a gala bringing together so many professionals and projects connected to wine tourism,” Gomes said.
According to APENO, the choice of presenter reflects a deliberate focus on a communicator with strong audience appeal — qualities considered essential for an event that gathers the sector’s leading figures.
“Rodrigo Gomes has a remarkable ability to connect with people, which is essential for an event of this nature. His presence reinforces the gala’s positioning as a moment of encounter and recognition for the sector,” said Maria João de Almeida, president of APENO.
The organisation anticipates a gala with a dynamic and engaging tone, in keeping with the character of the event and its aim of strengthening ties between professionals, companies, and institutions involved in wine tourism.
The National Wine Tourism Award Gala is one of the most significant dates in the sector’s calendar, recognising each year the projects, professionals, and initiatives that have distinguished themselves in promoting and developing wine tourism in Portugal, contributing to the valorisation of its territory, culture, and national wine heritage.
The 2026 edition carries the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic — a recognition that underscores the sector’s growing prominence in Portugal. This distinction further affirms APENO’s work in structuring and elevating wine tourism, as well as the wider contribution of industry stakeholders to local economies, territorial cohesion, and the country’s international standing. The institutional support lends additional prestige to the gala, consolidating its place as a centrepiece of the national wine and tourism calendar.
