Symington launches first aged white Port wine

01/05/2026A new wine marks Symington's entry into the aged white Port category and reinforces its commitment to innovation and the appreciation of Douro tradition.

Symington Family Estates, one of the most prestigious producers of Port and Douro wines, has just launched Warre’s Otima 10 Year Old White, the first aged white Port wine produced by the family. The new product comes from Warre’s, the oldest British Port wine house, founded in 1670, and represents a new approach to this historic category.

Warre’s Otima 10 Year Old White reaffirms the brand’s pioneering spirit by presenting a contemporary perspective on aged white Ports, highlighting their versatility as a suitable drink for different consumption moments throughout the year.

Aged for ten years in used oak barrels in the company’s historic warehouses in Vila Nova de Gaia, the wine has a pale, translucent amber-golden hue. On the nose, it is complex and elegant, with notes of tangerine zest, apricot and quince jam, raisins, honey, and toasted almonds, accompanied by a subtle sea breeze. On the palate, it shows freshness, balance, and a fine texture, with hints of apricot, citrus fruits, and a delicate touch of cinnamon that prolongs the finish.
Signed by winemaker Charles Symington, the wine translates the encounter between more than three centuries of winemaking heritage and a contemporary vision aimed at consumers who are increasingly attentive to quality and authenticity.

Warre’s Otima 10 Year Old White maintains the iconic 50cl transparent bottle of the Otima line, now with a renewed design. The curves of the label are inspired by the brand’s logo, and the color palette combines deep green, which honors Warre’s historical heritage, with a cream tone, a symbol of the modernity and innovation of this new expression.

Refreshing and sophisticated, Warre’s Otima 10 Year Old White establishes itself as a differentiated offering in the aged white Port wine market, reinforcing the trend of premiumization in the category and the role of Warre’s and Symington as benchmarks in the sector.

Symington Family Estates, a family business with more than five generations dedicated to wine, is currently one of the largest vineyard owners in the Douro and responsible for some of the most emblematic Port wine houses, such as Graham’s, Dow’s, Cockburn’s and Warre’s, in addition to several Douro and Alentejo wine brands.
