Taboadella at the forefront of Dão with innovative event

17/12/2025On November 29th, Taboadella hosted the first edition of 'The Mushroom Edit', a festival that brought together mushrooms, wines, and fire-based cuisine in a unique sensory experience in the heart of the Dão region.

The event took place in Taboadella’s designer winery, conceived by architect Carlos Castanheira, and combined two distinct experiences: the Immersive Experience, featuring a guided walk through the forest with mycologists and a walking lunch at Casa Villae, and the Main Experience, held in the winery with wine tastings, live cooking demonstrations, and music.

Three renowned chefs led the fire-based cooking: André Carvalho (Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo), Renato Cunha (Ferrugem), and Diogo Rocha (Mesa de Lemos, one MICHELIN star). The chefs’ culinary creativity was complemented by local Dão producers and hundreds of wines available for tasting, all inspired by mushrooms.

The festival provided participants with an immersion into nature’s cycle, highlighting the biodiversity of the Dão region and blending wine, gastronomy, and art. Attendees could also purchase wines from the featured producers and enjoy a DJ set, celebrating both the forest and the winery.

The event was supported by the Municipality of Sátão and Turismo do Centro de Portugal, reinforcing Taboadella’s position as a benchmark venue for innovative and sustainable wine tourism experiences.
